This is one of my favorites:

My People
By Langston Hughes

The night is beautiful,
So the faces of the people

The stars are beautiful,
So the eyes of my people

Beautiful, also, is the sun.
Beautiful, also, are the souls of my people.

    this is great. i love thinking about souls being beautiful...i'm pretty sure it would change the world if all people took the time to realize that. sigh.
